feature length. 1/3 of people have one episode and another 1/3 recover somewhat.

this film is honest and hopeful, and i think it's important to see for that first.

i appreciate that the woman in this film is miles away from the people made psycho-socially dependent and physically maimed by treatment practices of within the last generation.

a lot of the momentum in contemporary mental health comes from new atypical antipsychotics and ssri's that a broad section of people are willing or compelled to take. their reception is linked, but not determinative of changes opting for greater patient agency and autonomy... but there's still a lot of fear, lots of ruling by fear.
