I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I just... I woke up at 5 am, made coffee and got back in bed, and my cat (sorry) came and fell asleep in my arms and then I fell asleep too and then it was raining and sunshine at the same time when I woke up and it looked like my cat had a sixth toe.

My cat has been really lovely today. After we came home from the vet I gave him a little rub and he rolled over on his back (he doesn't like his belly rubbed so it's a position of trust) and then he came to sit beside me on the couch while I watched the news, which I love. He was so understanding. Even though he hates the car he hopped right in his carrier with no problems, he meowed all the way there in the car, hopped out with no problems, and even hopped back up on the examining table when asked. It was terribly warm in the car and he had his mouth open, panting, it must have felt awful for him, but he was still sweet at the end of the day. I am one proud mama. And there's nothing in the world like a cosy morning in bed with Bo.

I've never known a cat to be that cooperative on a vet visit. He must be quite special.

Here we are talking about cats again...

He did hide under the cabinet after the doctor peeled his furry scab off, and he yowls when the car is running, but generally he becomes very obedient in high-stress situations.

Once, before I adopted him, when I went to visit him at the shelter he hopped in the cabinet to try to escape going back in his cage. He was the only cat out and he was cornered, and he hissed at me when I tried to grab him. But I gave him a few minutes and then called his name and he came trotting out, right back to his cage. I started to decide then that his communication was too good to let someone else have him. I've only heard him hiss twice.

This morning we had a snooze together again.

We are just talking about my cat, so there's no pressure on you.

The other reason I picked my cat is that he made me feel good in the way that my psychologist at the time made me feel good. And he'd been saying I needed a cat for a year.

Clearly a wise man.

I don't know about that. He seems both older and younger than he is. The more I got to know him outside of the therapeutic relationship the more it seemed like an artful magic trick and the stranger he seemed.
