My sister wants her boyfriend to surprise her with a kitten. One that acts like a ten year old cat. I cannot believe the degree to which she does not care about the feline personality, and the wonderfulness of choosing one's own cat. She just wants grey tabby baby cuteness that she can forget about while she's at work all day.

Tragic.

It made me feel like she really did not want a cat.

Today I met a cat I would like to bring home, if I were allowed. He was little and orange and covered in drool. He liked to be held (I could feel him purring in against my stomach) and spent nearly my whole two hours sitting in my lap. He was so gentle he looked a bit shy - he got scared when another cat jumped up to sit in my lap as well.

In other news, Tippy the jumping cat found a home!

Hooray for Tippy! Now maybe she'll relax a little.

Orange drooly cat sounds interesting.

I wish I could bring him home. He'd have to have regular baths.

Only a Japanese person could stage that.

There are some elaborate stagings on that channel. I wonder if Japanese cats are even more Zen-like than others. Some commenters have speculated that he drugs the cats.

That kitten behavior looked pretty typical to me. I wonder what you would drug them with?

Most of the videos are of adult cats and they do appear remarkably sedate despite the wide range of items that are being placed on their heads. The kitten is a relatively new actor on the scene. I have no idea what you would drug a cat with, but I suspect he just spends hours acclimating them to having objects placed on their heads, being hung in baskets, etc.

That is also something that only a Japanese person would do.
