He's mad at you?
Maybe I read his aloofness as hostility. He refused to e-mail me back when I said I was struggling at the deadline I set and then out of the blue e-mailed to say that he would be taking a significant deduction. The sticking point now seems to be that he took deductions on other students' late papers. He didn't take one on C's paper; she got an A and the t.a. who graded the paper said she would have scored higher if she'd used "one good article." My plan, which my professor was aware of way before the due date, was to use secondary sources. I'm prepared to take an A+ off the table, but on principle, he's now stressed me out just as I was getting myself together.
Damn him. Personally I'm against authority in all its insidious forms, which is one reason why I don't think I'll be going back to school ever again.
If he presses I'll push for a general amnesty on all late papers. I appreciate the support, I've been feeling just awful about all of this.
