My mom recommended I skip class to relax and I've got to say, I feel better.
Thanks. I've been reading the news. The Obama win (hooray!) seems to have been digested in record time, though.
The news cycle has a short intestine.
By the time I had gotten home from school yesterday the NY Times had already cut it's free unlimited access to the election coverage. I was disappointed. Interesting to see how supportive Maryland was of Obama. Makes it seem like a more livable place.
Maryland is a blue state...it always goes to the Democrats in presidential elections. Most of the state's population is centered in urban areas, which are primarily Democrat. This time around the Democratic Party even managed to unseat a two-decade Republican congressman by redrawing a western rural district, a classic American political move. Maryland also approved gay marriage, one of only three states to do so. Maybe you heard that the state directly to your south did, as well.
I heard about Maine. C.'s brother volunteered on that campaign.
