My cat has turned into quite the bird watcher this winter. It staves off boredom for him.

As long as watching doesn't turn to killing, I approve. There was a story on National Public Radio last night about how domestic cats kill 500 million birds each year in the U.S. Many are killed by feral cats, but pets are responsible for one third of the deaths. So keep your cats indoors, folks...this has been a public service announcement from your favorite inconsistent birder.

He only goes out on a leash, so they should be safe. I wouldn't want any bodies on my hands!
